Hi all. Tiny Warriors has reduced prices on all our Ultimate Soldier stock from now till the end of February. Check out many of the new items just released!

We are also very excited about the new Xtreme Detail 1:18 scale Messerschmidt Me-262B-1a/U1 Jet "Night Fighter" (NJG 11 "Red 10")

This highly accurate model comes loaded with incredible features such as fully functioning nose and main landing gear that retract into authentic gear bays, and ammo bay doors that open to reveal four Mk. 108 cannons with ammo feed chutes. The cockpit features an accurately opening canopy, radar operator’s seat, fabric seat belts and super-detailed instrument panels. The aircraft also features flying surfaces with a full range of motion including rudder, elevators, ailerons, inner and outer flaps as well as six-part expendable leading edge slats. It also comes with an accurately researched and replicated forward array radar. Finally, this scale model includes two nose-mounted drop tanks and optional bombs (w/pylons), two rocket-assist take-off motors and two articulated pilot action figures.

1:18 Scale F-4 Phantom update

When 21st Century Toys announced that a 1:18 scale F-4 Phantom II was in the works, the fans went nuts! Many fans have been wondering what the markings will be for the final production model. The wait is now over and the veil of secrecy has been lifted. Today we received pictures of the paint scheme that will be featured as the first release.

Check out the 1:18 scale F-4 Phantom II paint master! Shown here is Capt. Richard Stephen "Steve" Ritchie's aircraft, the famous MiG killing F-4D Phantom II. Ritchie was a talented pilot and a natural at the controls as he flew many combat missions during the Vietnam War. To sharpen his skills, Ritchie would fly missions every 2 or 3 days, always receiving high performance evaluations. Ritchie was credited with a total of 5 air combat victories and emerged as the only US Air Force Ace of the Vietnam War. His raw talent and cocky fighting spirit earned him the respect of his fellow officers, and inspired the next generation of modern day fighter pilots.

More details and the expected release date of the 1:18 scale Phantom will continue to come. 21st Century Toys is hard at work on the Phantom and MiG-21.

After a lot of time tapping our feet with arms crossed, 21st Century Toys has finally released the new series of 1:18 scale Xtreme Detail aircraft. This will be the last totally new 1:18 scale birds until next Christmas.

The new line features the awesome TBA Avenger Torpedo Bomber. I have one hanging in the office here at the TW World Headquarters. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Equally as impressive is the new Korean War series. Two version of the F-86 Sabre, and two versions of the MIG-15 (Soviet Air Force, and Chinese Air Force).

The Avenger is here!!

After much anticipation, the 21st Century Toys 1:18 scale TBF-1 Avenger Torpedo Bomber has arrived! The wait was worth it. The detail is AMAZING. Everything is just like the original and it even includes three figures.

Tiny Warriors has eight of these babys being shipped to us on November 15th. 21st Century has a huge order from vendors for this aircraft. It is expected that they will sell out of their original stock in the first week as happened with the 1:32 M7 Priest (we will have an order of those in January).

We are taking orders for the Avenger on a first come-first serve basis. We will put in an additional order THIS MONDAY (11/5) if we have requests beyond the stock already ordered. In other words, if you want one, order it this weekend.

Dodge WC62 finds a home

As promised, we are going to feature stories and photos from some of our customers who are collecting and restoring military aircraft and vehicles. Here is our first news post from Mike Haines of Ohio...

I first heard, from my oldest son, about a WC62 sitting along State route 29 west of Mechanicsburg, Ohio. This was around mid May of this year. I was not in the market for a truck just yet. But since I had been kicking myself in the butt for selling my WC51 in 2002, I thought that this might be a chance for the bruises to heal so I could sit down comfortably again.

A few days after hearing about the truck, my 4 year old Grandson and I went to check it out. When I first saw it, sitting in front of a farm house, there was no for sale sign on it and judging by the good condition of the truck I was guessing that if it was for sale the price must be at least $12,000.00 to $15,000.00, way out of my price range! I proceeded to check out the truck and to take photos, still believing it was out of my range. Finally I went to the door of the farm house and a young man came to the door. He said the truck had been his grandpa's and that grandpa had died and left to his step-daughter, the young man's mother. He said he had no idea how much his mom wanted for it, so we exchanged phone numbers and such. However as I was leaving his mother came home and she said she just wanted to get rid of the truck so she wanted only $6,000.00 for it. I just about choked trying to blurt out,"I'll take it".

There was one big glitch however, she had no title for the truck. it seems that when grandpa died they could not locate any legal documents, not even the deed to the farm. So to make a long story short, after 2 months of attempting to get a title (so she said) her lawyer advised her to either scrap it out or sell it without a title. When she called and told me this I said "I'll pick it up this weekend". There was just no way I was going to let the truck stay in the possession of someone who was considering cutting it up for scrap! I called the State of Ohio BMV and was advised how to go about applying for a title, it's not a 100% sure bet that I will get one but the BMV they lady I spoke with said she is very confident that I will.

So, my plans are first to get a starter in it that works and then to strip and repaint the vehicle, put makings on it from an anti-tank company in the 83 Infantry Division to represent a vehicle that fought from Normandy through the end of the war in Europe. I'm not a re-enactor but I will be driving it in many parades and displaying it when ever possible. This all hinges on whether or not I get a title. If I don't she will be for sale again, with one difference, I have a much better appreciation for how much this truck is worth.

There aren't that many of these old trucks left, but there are a few and parts availability for them is very good with many NOS (new old stock) parts abounding and many fine reproduction part are now being made.

So keep your fingers crossed for a title.

New Ultimate Soldier Vietnam F-104 Orders

So we have seen this one on a the back of a few boxes and now it is finally here! The NEW 21st Century 1:18 F-104 Smoke II in the Vietnam camo.

We are proud to be taking preorders on this aircraft through our regular web site and here is the link to the F-104 page. We are taking delivery next month but we can't guarantee how long they will last considering how things went with the first USAF model 21stC put out. It went FAST!

If the stock holds, we may have these at our ebay store but we can't determine that until we see how long they last.

In addition to our own web site, TW is quickly becoming the go-to place for those searching for 21st Century goodies. We have even been including a few things at our Ebay store that are not up on our web site yet. In other news, we are getting closer to the release of the HIGHLY awaited 1:18 Avenger. It could happen in the next couple of months. We are working hard to make sure we have them as soon as they are available.

Here is a picture and detailed information about the new 21C 1:32 scale M7 Priest! This is one very cool looking model, a must have for any 1:32 scale military collector! Our pictures include the plastic model test shots that were taken during the span of the project as well as the final version which is show in its authentic US Army paint scheme. First look at the 1:18 scale F-86 first shots

21C proudly announces the forthcoming release of the F-86F Sabre in our signature 1/18th scale.

-Historical Significance-
The design work for the F-86 Sabre was begun before the end of World War 2. Originally designed with straight wings and tailplanes, it could not reach the speeds the Air Force required, so new swept wings and tailplanes were fitted, and the F-86 was born. The swept wings made slow speed handling extremely touchy, so automatic leading edge slats were added. These worked well and landing speeds and handling were greatly improved. There was a penalty however, in that it was found that in combat with the excellent Russian Mig-15 during the Korean War, the MiG had a distinct advantage in turning. This led to a redesign of the wing. The new wing was known as the 6-3 hard wing, and became standard on the F-86F. This new wing eliminated the turning advantage of the MiG-15, and the excellent combat record of the Sabre was a testament to this classic fighter jet's design.

The 21st Century Toys F-86 represents the F model fitted with the 6-3 hard wing. This was the version that turned the tide and brought air superiority to the USAF and its allies in the Korean War. Our new Sabre features many exciting features that will once again raise the bar in 1/18th scale. These include:

1) Wings and tailplanes feature thin trailing edges.
2) All flying surfaces and flaps are poseable with a full range of movement featuring an all new proprietary hinge system.
3) Correctly shaped clear canopy that opens to access the highly detailed cockpit
4) Deep intake trunking routed under the cockpit floor -JUST LIKE THE REAL F-86.
5) Nosewheel rotates 90 degrees to lie flat in gearbay.
6) Airbrakes can be posed in open or closed position.
7) Authentically detailed, highly poseable Korean War era pilot figure has detachable oxygen mask and parachute.
8) Comes with 2 long range drop tanks.
9) Detailed cockpit features an all new 21C exclusive design instrument panel with highly detailed dials.
10) Features our first ever complete, detailed gunbays featuring six .50 cal Browning machine guns with removable doors.
11) Doors fold down to reveal detailed ammunition canisters.
12) Full deep jet exhaust pipe.

And there's more new features to come. As you can see, 21st Century has spent a lot of time making sure our new F-86F Sabre is the best your money can buy. The photos you see are of the first test shots. There are a number of engineering, shape accuracy and fit issues that have already been incorporated in the following production phases, and work continues at a fever pitch. Watch this space for more news about the Sabre as we race to the finish line and get this beauty into production and in to fans collections.

As you probably know by now, the Saber will be released concurrently with our new 1/18th scale MiG-15bis, the aircraft that rose to fame as the main opponent of the F-86 during the Korean war. Russian designed and built, the MiGs were mostly piloted by highly experienced Russian and Chinese pilots during the conflict. It proved to be an extremely agile and heavily armed aircraft; a dangerous adversary!. More news on the MiG to follow shortly. Watch this space!

New Products and Back in Stock

The new 21st Century Toys price sheet was released today and we are glad to report some anticipated items and restocks.

On the NEW list is the 1:32 P-51D "Miss Marilyn", a 1:18 M998 Humvee cargo/troop carrier in both hard and soft top, and the much sought 1:18 Dodge WC-51, 3/4 ton truck which has only been found at a few Walmarts up to this point.

On the restock end of things, we are glad to see the 1:6 German Kettenkrad back on the block. This release features a trailer and TWO figures. Plus the FDR F104 Starfighter.

More good news. Next month we will finally offer up the 1:32 Zeros and Macchis. Stay tuned for details.

NEW P-51D "The Flying Undertaker"

21st Century Toys has announcing the release of the NEW North American P-51D Mustang Fighter. This 1:18 Scale Fighter is the product of a completely newly designed tooling pattern that brings the Xtreme Detail line to a brand new level. This Mustang includes authentic markings, precision stenciling and a highly detailed cockpit interior as well as many moveable flight surfaces such as adjustable ailerons, elevators, flaps and rudder. Other features include retractable landing gear, a sliding canopy and a moveable radiator exit flap. One articulated pilot action figure also included.

This paint scheme honors Major William Shomo and his P-51D Mustang "Snooks - 5th", which was nicknamed "The Flying Undertaker". Shomo, who graduated from Mortuary school prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Force, commanded the 82nd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron of the 5th Air Force (Pacific Theater) and recorded eight victories in his career including seven in one day when he shot down six Tonys and a Betty Bomber on January 11th 1945 for which he was awarded the Medal Of Honor.

Spy report from Toy Fair 2006

The mighty TBF-1 Avenger! This 1:18 scale torpedo bomber has been keeping the natives restless for sometime now. Mystery, anticipation, and sleepless nights for collectors have made this airplane a very desired piece for the collection.

We had the opportunity to check these bad birds out during the American International Toy Fair in New York. We were intrigued to learn that the 2 schemes shown are not the final production versions. In fact these 2 are roughly 7 months old! So what does it all mean? 21st filled in the gaps for us.

The new and final production Avenger has not been shown to the public. It's wing folding mechanism has turned into it's own kind of trade secret it seems. The concern came over the extreme weight of the massive wing in a fixed position. The device had to be durable. This is one of the reasons for development setbacks.

Roy Sutherland and the rest of the product development team have spent a great deal of time perfecting this product. This is one of the most progressive products ever offered by 21st Century Toys and they are very big! The first release will be the grey on grey Atlantic Scheme and following right behind is the Flight 19 dark blue scheme.

So the big question is when, we asked 21st as they replied with a smile... "we can't give a solid date but rest assured the mighty Avenger is well into production and it will be the talk of the town when it releases this year" ! We did a little covert operation in the storage area of the booth and discovered a mocked-up box with complete crew and boxed aircraft all wire tied in place, so we know it can't be too far!

New Corsair now available

21st Century Toy's newest 1:18 Chance-Vought F4U-1A Corsair variant is painted to represent the aircraft flown by US Navy Ace Lieutenant Commander Rodger Hedrick of VF-84 based on the Aircraft Carrier USS Bunker Hill. Hedrick finished the war with 12 confirmed victories and 4 damaged aircraft to his credit. Hedrick, who had previously flown with the famous VF-17 "Jolly Rogers", finished the war with 12 confirmed victories and 4 damaged aircraft to his credit. The primary mission of the Corsairs assigned to the USS Bunker Hill was to defend the aircraft carrier from the desperate Kamikaze attacks that were wreaking havoc with the Pacific Fleet.
